"Taking the Wobbles out of Spelling" - Book Version
I was motivated to write the book by requests from parents for information that would help them help their children. English is a complicated language, but if we can make ourselves listen to the sequence of the sounds in words and learn the most common way to write these sounds, then the whole process becomes much less daunting.
Many children are lucky and never have a problem with spelling, but for those who do find it hard, a few basic rules and concepts will help to cut out mistakes and give vital confidence to have a go with new words. LIke a good chef, we only need a method, not a recipe for every flavour of cake we need to make!
Hopefully this little book will explain the basic spelling patterns that children find difficult in simple language. Examples and tips are included.
